Promiscuity and Post Marital Adultery – A curse of our times. Watch new film to address this issue soon.

Posted on Jan 16, 2010 08:59:09 AM

Brother Zamir Afzal of www.nooreislam.tk recently gave me a mandate to produce a film for him. His goal was clear – he wanted me to make a film that would move people away from the great sin of Adultery. He felt that the issue of adultery especially post marital adultery was becoming so common that the ummah seems to have forgotten the ill effects of this act. He wanted to bring the effects of this major sin to the forefront.

Prophet Muhammad Sallallaho Alayhe Wa Aalehi Wa Sallam has forbidden this act and warned us that this act takes man (and woman) into the pits of darkness – in this life as well as the hereafter. We have listened to the warner who has always saved us by warning about things that we may not know. We have always benefited from following this warner and the giver of good tidings.

The challenge in this film was to show the effects of ‘Zina’ or adultery and yet remain within the realm of visual decency. Another challenge was to try and scare people away from this act – even those who do not take afterlife seriously. We have tried to do this by showing real life situation in an elevator instead of showing afterlife in a traditional way. We felt that real life situations like getting stuck in an elevator scares people more than traditional situations which they have chosen to ignore or have become immune to.

I have just finished shooting the film and have gone into the post production phase. I should be able to put up the trailer of the film soon. The full film will be released worldwide by Mr. Zamir Afzal of www.nooreislam.tk

It was a good effort by brother Zamir to attempt to tackle a burning issue of the ummah. May Allah and his Habeeb Sallallaho Alayhe Wa Aalehi Wa Sallam be pleased with his noble effort and grant him success in his mission to spread the divine message. May Allah bless us all.

I am back. The shoot and post production of the films is done and I would like to thank all those who prayed for me in response to my post. Click here to read that post. The films have come out very well thanks to the efforts of my team and your prayers. Your prayers, continuous support and encouragement are very important for me and my team. Keep praying for us.

I have posted below, some stills from the films that i just did for my friend Mukhtar ul Mustafa. The two short films that i did will be a part of his documentary that he is doing.
‘The days of darkness’ is a film about the era before Prophet Muhammad PBUH and contains a story of a girl who is being taken for being buried alive.
The second film – ‘Forgive me Mama’ is about a young man who wants to repent after he is reduced to a state of poverty and misery because of his misbehavior with his mother.

Even good deeds will become worthless, while you remain unaware – Allah warns in the Quran.

Unimaginable!!! Allah tells us in the Quran about one act that can nullify all our deeds!!! And that too while we remain unaware about it!!! Here is the Ayat of the Quran in which there is a great warning by Allah SWT:

Allah offers forgiveness to certain people in the Holy Quran.

Posted on Aug 26, 2009 12:22:36 PM

Since Ramadan is the month wherein the Holy Quran is recited most frequently, this Ramadan, I will try and put up a few posts based on some of the ayats of the Quran.

We try so hard in Ramadan to get our sins forgiven. We try so hard in Ramadan to get special rewards from Allah SWT. And Allah offers these two big gifts to certain people. It might surprise you that in the Quran, Allah offers forgiveness and great reward to people for a very simple looking act. What is that simple yet effective act of worship? In the Quran Allah SWT says:

Why will a billion people give up food and water for 30 days in Ramadan once again? Hadith e Nabavi PBUH inside.

Posted on Aug 20, 2009 08:47:51 AM

How is that for a following? About 1400 years back one person asked his followers to fast in a particular way, and billions of people ever since have followed these injunctions. How did one person make us give up our lunch? Why do millions of people go thirsty for 30 days – sometimes even in scorching sun?

We are so selfish – then how did we agree to give up some of the most critical things in our life – food and water?

We fast because we know that he (PBUH) speaks for us and our benefit. We have never ever seen him say anything that would harm us. He had kind words and prayers even for his tormentors. He only wished good for us and did good to us. We have experienced only good from the system that he gave us.

We give up food and water because we trust him when he says it is good for us. And we keep discovering that goodness even today. We believe everything that he says because we are sure about his truthfulness. When he says that we are the recipients of honors and rewards from Allah in this month we believe it. Because he PBUH is the beloved of Allah SWT and who would know better about Allah SWT, than his beloved?

So instead of talking about the approaching Ramadan myself, I will reproduce below some things said by the master PBUH himself :

O People! The month of Allah (Ramadan) has approached you with HIS mercy and blessings. This is the month that is the best of all months in Allah’s view. Its days are the best among the days; its nights are the best among the nights. Its hours are the best among the hours.

This is a month in which he has invited you towards him. You have been, in this month, selected as the recipients of the honors of Allah, the Merciful. In this holy month, when you breathe, it has the Sawab/thawab (heavenly reward) of ‘Tasbeeh’ (the praise of Allah on rosary beads), and your sleep has the thawab of worship.

Are we monkeys?

Posted on Aug 9, 2009 11:27:38 AM

My heart is saddened. Recently there was a sister who ‘pointed’ out certain things to me via comments on my posts. Her comments and my replies can be read here and here. There were other emails and comments too but I have included only these here. You too can reply to her objections via the comments section on these pages. She raised the general objections that are raised by people who have been brainwashed by an inhuman ideology that they call Islam – Islam minus Prophet Muhammad PBUH.

She suggested that I should not make films that promote love for the Prophet PBUH… Read the rest of this entry »

What is that image on the green flag?

Posted on Aug 4, 2009 03:27:42 PM

In one of my naat videos I have used a green flag with an image on it. This green flag represents peace and harmony in the story of the video as you can see in the video embedded further down in this post.

Till date at least 7-8 people have asked me what that image on the green flag was. Maybe they had never seen this image before or maybe the image was not clear enough in the video. This post is to clarify what that image really was.

That image was the image/impression of the highly respected relic of Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) sandals. This relic and the associated impression/image represents the sandals that once touched the holy feet of the Prophet (PBUH). These sandals have also gone to the highest heavens when the Prophet PBUH went for Meraj.

Why use it as a symbol of peace and harmony in the video? Because the master who wore these slippers stood for peace and harmony. We print it on flags, we print it on paper. We kiss the paper on which it is printed and we venerate it. Just like we kiss and venerate the Quran which is printed on paper but which represents the blessed Quran that was revealed to Prophet Muhammad PBUH by Allah SWT.

We are impressed by that great person who prayed for those who stoned him mercilessly. The woman who chewed his dear uncle’s liver after having him killed got amnesty – and that too when this great Prophet PBUH was in total control of her city and could have her beheaded. And this amnesty was extended to many other people who were cruel to this Prophet of peace (PBUH).

We are so impressed that we search for relics and symbols associated with him. One such relic are the sandals shown in the video below. We are impressed with him and we are grateful to him. And hence we go to Medina to see the city where he stayed, to pay our respects to him, to thank him. Our eyes strain to see the signs and symbols associated with the life of this great Prophet. But alas these symbols have been destroyed. His place of birth has been converted to a building. Other symbols have been destroyed. We are shooed when we try to thank him in front of his final resting place. His mother’s grave has been bulldozed and gasoline was poured on it!!!

I dedicate this video below to that great mother who gave birth to the greatest creation of Allah SWT.
His sandals are dear to us, and his mother is dearer.
Very dear to us are his family – the Ahle Bayt (RA).

Watch the video below and enter and dedicate your comments for that noble mother of the noblest creation:

Don’t say thank you. It is shirk.

Photograph of Masjid e Nabawi - taken with my mobile phone
I am a film director/producer and whenever my production goes on air I spontaneously phone people who financed the production as well as the key people who helped me in the production to thank them. I also remember the day I completed my studies, I went to my parents and kissed their hands and wept in gratitude for having given me the opportunity to learn and do what I wanted to do. This is what I was taught by my great teacher Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). To be indebted and to thank people who have helped me in any way.

There is another great debt on me of the person who sacrificed all that he had so that I may be liberated and happy. He smiled and continued his mission while people stoned him and forced him out of his town. He taught me what I did not know and worked tirelessly to establish a system that my family runs on today. He taught me to respect my elders and treat others with kindness.

My parents, myself, my wife and child all felt greatly indebted to that great man and hence we all decided to travel to Medina to thank him. Read the rest of this entry »

Beware of the ‘english’ Quran

Posted on Apr 26, 2009 07:59:31 PM

Don’t get me wrong – I am not against English language. This is the language in which I am comfortable communicating. In fact I would strongly advocate praying namaz in English for certain people. :)

But in this post I am going to blow the whistle on a dangerous practice which is commonplace among non Arabic speaking muslims like me. Before I begin let me make it clear that I am not against using English or other translations of the Quran but it is necessary to be aware of the pitfalls of using translations.

Praying salat should be in English? 10 rakat in the morning?

Posted on Apr 26, 2009 07:01:33 PM

I think in English and even dream in English. Many people do so. Allah (SWT) is close to our hearts and even closer to us than the jugular vein. So how should one speak to Allah (SWT), what language should we use to pray to him? Use our spoken language of course would be a natural unbiased answer.

But we don’t pray salat or namaz in English or our spoken language whether it be urdu, French, or Pushto. We talk to Allah (SWT) in Arabic!!! This very unnatural act of ours of praying to ALLAH (SWT) five times a day in an alien language just proves one thing.
