Allah offers forgiveness to certain people in the Holy Quran.

Posted on Aug 26, 2009 12:22:36 PM

Since Ramadan is the month wherein the Holy Quran is recited most frequently, this Ramadan, I will try and put up a few posts based on some of the ayats of the Quran.

We try so hard in Ramadan to get our sins forgiven. We try so hard in Ramadan to get special rewards from Allah SWT. And Allah offers these two big gifts to certain people. It might surprise you that in the Quran, Allah offers forgiveness and great reward to people for a very simple looking act. What is that simple yet effective act of worship? In the Quran Allah SWT says:

Indeed those who suppress their voices in the presence of Allah’s Noble Prophet, are the ones whose hearts Allah has tested for piety; for them is forgiveness, and a great reward. (Quran 49:3)

Allah guides us through the ayats of the Quran. The ayats of the Quran have great treasures in them for those who think and contemplate. Just think about it and you will see vast wisdom behind each and every Ayat of the Quran.

In the above mentioned Ayat, Allah SWT is offering forgiveness and a great reward to those who merely suppress their voices in front of the Prophet PBUH. So much for just showing a little respect in front of the Prophet PBUH? What would Allah SWT do to those who go beyond this seemingly simple act in expressing their love and respect for the Prophet PBUH?

Furthermore, I can’t even imagine what ALLAH SWT would grant to those whom the Prophet prays for. If Allah SWT is ready to give his forgiveness to those who show such a small sign of respect and love, will he not forgive those for whom Prophet Muhammad PBUH asks for forgiveness?

For the deniers of ‘Shafa’at’ or intercession this should be an eye opener. For the deniers of the importance of the role of the Prophet PBUH this should be an eye opener.

And Allah is talking of ‘Ajrun Azeem’ or ‘A great Reward’ in this ayat – not an ordinary reward mind you.
Allah is offering so much for an act that looks so simple. But I don’t find this hard to believe. It’s all about his beloved after all.

It is not uncommon for lovers to judge others from the way they treat their beloved. Just treat the beloved with respect and you can immediately see the lover’s eyes light up with pleasure. And believe me you can take any reward from the lover at such a moment.

Surely reciting Durood is a bigger act of demonstrating one’s love and respect for the Prophet PBUH. The rewards must be much bigger!!! So I end my post with a Durood – Allahumma Salle ala Syedina Muhammad wa aale Syedina Muhammad.
