Hijab under attack even in Islamic societies. Watch new video.

Posted on Apr 14, 2012 10:21:51 AM

I recently did a video on a sensitive issue that needs highlighting. You can watch this video at the end of this post. Hijab is under attack almost everywhere from west to the east. The surprising fact is that it is under attack even in so called Islamic societies. Ask any woman who practices hijab and she will tell you how she has to resist and struggle.

Video showing events at Karbala - for Muharram 2011

Posted on Nov 17, 2011 09:45:59 AM

I just completed the shoot of a new video depicting events at Karbala.

I consider myself to be one of the luckiest producers in the world having got an opportunity to be the Director and Cinematographer for this video.

We have not shown the martyrs of Karbala but have designed the imagery in a manner that will give a ‘feel’ of the tragic events of Karbala where the grandson of the Holy Prophet Sallallaho Alayhe Wa Aalehi Wa Sallam was martyred mercilessly. The video will be broadcast internationally on multiple TV channels and online too during Muharram 2011.

Here is a sneak preview in the form of pictures from the video.

Watch Al-Atash trailers

Posted on Oct 28, 2011 09:06:15 PM

Mega TV series Al-Atash is a contemporary story about sacrifice and peaceful resistance against fierce, evil and cruel forces. It is a story that reminds us about the values cherished by Prophet Muhammad Sallallaho Alayhe Wa Aalehi Wa Sallam and his grandson and his family who were martyred at Karbala after 3 days of thirst.

Watch the 8 trailers below and leave your feedback/comments.

Also pray for me and my team who made this possible. Below the player I have included the names of many talented and wonderful people in my team whose unshaken faith and tireless efforts were responsible in bringing this mega episodic tv serial to you. Please do pray for all of us.

Give children back their mothers

Posted on Sep 2, 2011 11:37:48 PM

This was the goal of Al-Haadi Musalla of Toronto - the sponsors of my last short film ‘Rishta’ (The Bond). The theme of the film is the important debate on working women and the story/script was provided by the sponsors.

The idea was not to prevent all women from working but rather the film looks at the ‘collateral damage’ resulting from the thoughtless pursuit of the ‘perceived satisfaction’ of being a working woman.

Some women do need to work for economic reasons but that is not the case with all working women.

There is a perceived emotional satisfaction of being a career woman but that needs to be weighed against the losses that occur in the family life. We need to fix up our priorities.

Many children have lost their mothers and their family lives because both parents are focused on their work and careers. We need to think whether this great loss is worth the emotional satisfaction of a career.

Can this satisfaction be achieved by women by being more socially active instead of taking up a career? Can a man leave his job instead and focus on his children? Will a father sitting at home for the children be able to substitute the loss of a mother for the children? This film raises these questions that we all need to sit and answer - for the sake of our children…

This film was sponsored for the isaale thawaab of the Marhoomeen mentioned at the end of the film. Please pray for them and for all those who participated in the making of this film.

Join hands to show the world who the Prophet really is…

Posted on Aug 5, 2011 12:06:12 AM

Written biographies are the thing of the past. Audio visual media, viral videos, online films, social media have changed the world. If something does not exist in this sphere it does not exist at all for most people.

Visual stories have a profound effect on people and one of the best demonstration of this fact is the Film titled “The Message”. After it’s release in the 70s, things changed drastically. The Film became a reference for historical facts. The film had such a great impact on world audiences that it now serves as a point of reference to verify history!!!

Seeing is believing. Our sense of history and personalities is now dictated by what we see in films.

But the film was skewed in its approach towards Islam. It presented the message of Islam but did not do justice in presenting the personality of Prophet Muhammad Sallalaho Alayhe Wa Aalehi Wa Sallam.

The film was powerful and hence it caused powerful damage.

The damage needs to be undone. A powerful film needs to be made that will present the Prophet to the world - in a manner that has never been done before. We are taking that initiative to make a film with a proposed title of “The Living Message” - a film that will open the eyes of the world. A film that will bring Muslim and Non-Muslim audiences closer to understanding the real persona of the Prophet.

There is no actor in the world who can play the role of the Prophet in any film. Hence we will use a symbolic visual style to present him in the film. The film will be all about him but it will not show him.

We will engage audiences and bring them closer to understanding him in a manner that is visual, symbolic and powerful.

But we cannot do this alone. Nor do we want to it alone. We want your participation in this Mega project. We have created a fund raising campaign on indiegogo.com to raise funds for the film. More information about this Epic film project can be found there. Please contribute generously and be a part of this Epic film that will guide and inspire generations to come. Share this fund raising campaign amongst your friends and family and of course, your social network. Invite and encourage them to contribute for this Epic cause.

You may also send funds via Western Union or Bank Wire. Please contact us via email on ebrahym@muhammadi.me for more details.
